Joey's Adventures
Friday, October 26th 2018

Four years ago early one June morning our beautiful homebred colt “Joey” was born, right here on the farm.

He has grown into a very handsome, friendly boy.

He has been working on his basics of tying, grooming, standing for the farrier, lunging and long lining.

Last Wednesday morning it was time for him to leave Forrestel for his first big adventure.
He loaded on the trailer like a pro and off he headed for a 7 hour drive to Cochranville PA. Joey has gone to join one of our close camp friends (and old Forrestel Camper) Chloe Celani. Chloe, who works for Boyd Martin, an Olympic 3 day event rider, will break Joey and he will start his career under saddle.

Although it was so sad to see him leave we cannot wait to see how he does.

As I watched Joey leave in the trailer, I started to feel many emotions… Would he like it? would he settle in? would he make new friends? It reminded me of Parents dropping off their children at camp on arrival day, they too must share those same feelings.

Chloe sends us pictures and updates of his progress. They are starting to ride him and we can’t wait to find out how that’s going. Joey couldn’t be at a finer stable or have a better start under saddle.
Stay tuned for more updates!
