Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1
Monday, July 2nd 2018

The weekend of our first two week session was a smash hit! Friday evening ended with our normal riding session before an energetic round of songs at the campfire and bedtime. On Saturday morning, the girls got to take part in 2018’s first round of our annual Pony Games! The campers were split into teams and were assigned horses to ride in the games, and the first order of business was painting the ponies according to the team colors. After the horses and riders were decked out in as much of their color as could be mustered, the whole camp headed out to the back ring to compete for the championship. Riders and ponies relayed their hearts out in a great morning of friendly competition and lots of pony love!

After pony games, the whole group spent the afternoon in the pond – a welcome break from the heat enjoyed by all. After dinner, the campers split into their tent groups for our annual lip sync battle! The girls all choreographed their own routines to songs of their choice and performed their numbers in front of the whole camp in a battle for lip sync supremacy. The show concluded with a visit from our favorite DJ and a dance party which ran right up to bedtime. Karaoke and loads of dancing made the night such a highlight of the session!

We like to take Sundays a little slower here at Forrestel, so the campers got to sleep in until 9:00 before coming down for breakfast and an extended rest time. We welcomed a few new campers to the session and everybody is so excited to have new faces on board! After rest time, we enjoyed a nice lunch in the eating house and split into our teams for another annual tradition on the farm: Olympic Day! The girls donned their assigned colors and headed out to the pond where the teams competed in a number of relay races both in and out of the water – competition was fierce, but after an energetic and spirited afternoon of races, the Orange team was victorious!

Olympic day ended with dinner and a movie before the girls hit the hay, tired but thrilled to take on the rest of the week. All in all, the weekend was full of laughter and so, so much fun. Stay tuned for more stories!
