Dear Camp Friends,

With the new growth of spring comes many new happenings at the farm. This mamma cow and her calf are getting a drink from the creek down the north lane. At present, two hundred and forty one calves have been born. When the cattle are grazing, it’s fun to see the baby calves playing with each other. They usually run around the most at the end of the day just before it gets dark.

Our horses are arriving daily after being away at their winter homes. They seem so happy to get back and enjoy the lush, green pastures. We have the mares and geldings together now, but when Kat gets here we’ll separate them. (Speaking of Kat, I am picking her up at the airport tonight! Can’t wait to see her!) The only horses that are apart from the rest now are those in t he fat paddock. I know they desperately want to be with the others, but it wouldn’t be good for their bellies. :)

We have purchased a new horse. Her name is Willow and she is the gray mare in the picture. The other picture shows the horses fascinated by the cattle being moved from one pasture to another.
