Wednesday was a beautiful day here on the farm! The morning was chilly so breakfast time saw all of our campers and counselors wrapped up and cozy in sweatshirts and sweatpants before heading back to the tents for cleaning! Tent Inspection competition has been fierce all week as the campers gear up for the winning prize: a trip for ice cream on Friday!
The first riding session went off without a hitch as the girls continued to get to know their horses and riding instructors. The morning session included lots of work on walk, trot, canter and some small jumps, and the girls have shown some incredible progress!
Lunch followed the first riding session of the day, and then came rest hour and a trip to the pond. During the following activity session, a canoe trip was sent out to see our local lake and waterfall! At the same time, the other half of camp marched on with their second rides of the day, which included some cross country trips and lots of successful lessons!
In the evening, the camp gathered into two groups once again for the day’s third ride and activity session. The girls outside of the barn got to enjoy our activities such as archery and arts and crafts before heading to campfire and bed. One small group even got to leave the farm for a trip to the bakery to learn all about how to make their own bread and sweet treats! All in all, the day was yet another hit! Stay tuned for more stories!
